How lives are lost regularly at Eastfort? With whatever cosmetic changes we make at Eastfort, accidents will occur again unless a comprehensive long term plan is implemented there. Here is a concept note given to Government earlier to be taken up under the Capital Region Development Programme, which I hope some one may take up, since I am moving out of the office of DC shortly. This proposal was not only for decongesting East fort, but also to decongest the Thampanoor area. We take all passengers of the State and the country through buses and trains to Thampanoor and then they travel to different parts of the city, from a single point, creating heavy traffic congestion. This comprehensive plan will shift all the long distance buses and trains to the new 45 meter NH area. ‘
